Police Constable Avenges ex-fiance with Acid Attack.

Raheela, aged 19, is currently battling death at Agha Khan Hospital in Karachi, along with her brother, Jan Mohammad and 8 years old nephew, Hadi, after being a victim of an acid attack from her police constable ex-fiancé on refusing to marry him.

The group of three was on their way to the beauty parlor in the locality when the police constable, Zeeshan aka Ali, also her ex-fiancé, threw acid at the group on Chaand Raat, 18^th of July 2015 on the Abul Hassan Ispahani Road.

The victims were taken immediately to the Patel Hospital, from where they were shifted to Agha Khan Hospital. According to her family, 80 percent of Raheela’s body has undergone severe burns. Due to the damage incurred to her trachea by the attack, she has been put on a ventilator. Her brother and her nephew are, fortunately, out of danger now.

“Raheela is in a critical condition at the moment and the doctors are trying to save her,” informed Raheela’s maternal uncle, Sohail Memon, “Her face has been severely burnt and she has lost both her eyes in the accident.”

Moreover, the Gulshan-e-Iqbal police officials launched several raids following the media reports on the attack and took the assailant’s brothers in their custody. Zeeshan was himself caught in the Garden area by the police.

As per Abid Qaimkhani, the SP Gulshan-e-Iqbal, “We successfully arrested Zeeshan before he could escape Karachi.”

He further told that a report has been lodged against Zeeshan and his coadjutors under the Pakistan Penal Code and the Anti-Terrorism Act at the Mubina Town police station on the complaint of Abdur Rahim, Raheela’s father.

The police told that Zeeshan was accompanied by three more people on two motorcycles when he performed the heinous act. They improvised that various raids are being conducted to arrest his accomplices.

“Zeeshan was presently posted at the Boat Basin police station. We have requested harsh action to be taken against him from the South district police, starting with the dismissal of his service.” They revealed.

The victim’s family confided that Policeman Adnan, Zeeshan’s elder brother, is threatening the family now that the attacker is being held behind the bars.

Reportedly, the engagement came to an end when the family discovered Zeeshan’s suspicious character, and have been receiving threats from him ever since.

Rahim has requested the ranger’s director general to intervene in the matter and provide his family security from Adnan.
