University Of Karachi, the biggest public sector university of Karachi provides point services to its students so that the students coming from various parts of the city can easily reach there. The aim is to provide facility to the students especially for those students who belong to middle class family. This service seems to be the most fascinating factor for the students.

What is the actual picture of this service?

There are about 24 thousand students, who are currently enrolled in Karachi University. Meanwhile only 28 buses are available for the students.

Can anyone imagine the overall picture? How many of those 24 thousand students could avail this service? Most of the students have to travel privately which is more costly for them.

Having more than 52 departments, University of Karachi is just providing the services of 28 buses.

If you have been to University Of Karachi, and visited the Point Terminal, you have seen the condition of buses, turned into scrapes.

10 buses are damaged completely. The authority ignored it totally. They are not providing the funds to repair these buses. Often the point service providers are on strike for the acceptance of the funds but it never works. Again students suffer from this situation.

Same is the case with shuttle Service inside Karachi University; Students of various departments have to travel for other departments to take classes. Shuttle service is charging 10 rupees fair from students, which ultimately means 50 rupees per day to travel inside the campus. Students claim that the fairs are so costly for them and it makes difficult for them to bear these expenses.5 rupees are more than enough for this service.

The point’s service which still fascinates the students of Karachi University to some extent is not available for the students of evening shift. Reason is not appropriate funding in transportation system of Karachi University. Paying 70 {c8e7245b8ab68c565aad156e68e78729a90ed3dd91ad3177b3c5a92377d109db} more than morning, evening shift students can’t avail this service.

Another emerging factor is the services of private pick n drop service which has over crowded the evening shifts. The service provider charged the fair so much and students have to pay it as they don’t see any other option.

The ever repeating lame excuse from authorities of insufficient fund is proved to be false. The creation of new departments and banks inside the campus reflects the situation that the authorities are more concerned in building the structure of the campus not to facilitate the students.

The authorities should take action against this complex situation and should play their role to provide a smooth transportation system with cheap fairs for the students coming from different walks of life.
