Baldia Town Incident

According to Rangers report MQM was involved in Baldia Town incident. On 11 September 2012 in Baldia Town 258 factory Workers was burnt in Fire.

The report was compiled by a joint investigation team (JIT) and submitted by the additional Attorney General in Sindh High court with statement of Additional Assistant Judge Advocate General of Rangers Ashfaq Ahmed.

This is mentioned in the statement that MQM Activist Muhammad Rizwan Qureshi disclosed the details of incident in 2013 during investigation of the case. According to JIT reports MQM worker revealed that “a leading official of the party” in August 2012 demanded extortion from factory owner.

He further accused that organizational committee of MQM ordered Rehman Bohla to take extortion from the factory owners but when they refused to give them money, Sector in charge members set fire to factory with chemicals. Suspect claimed that je obtained all these details from former sector in charge of MQM Baldia Town.

JIT report disclosed MQM workers were involved in several other cases including rigging in 2013 general elections.
