Legendry Pakistani Folk Singer Reshma Dies after a long
Lahore: Famous and Popular folk singer of Pakistan Reshma Died in at the age of sixty-six. Pakistan’s official and local media said that she had been suffering from throat cancer for the past one month.
Reshma did not get a formal education.She was just Twelve-year-old when a radio producer Salim Gilani heard her singing Shahbaz Qalandar’s shrine and took her to the Radio and Then She got popularity from “Laal Meri”. Mr. Gilani later became Director General of radio Pakistan. She began singing on Pakistan Television at the age of Sixty and started her artistic journey.
Her art in India and Pakistan were equally popular and she was one of Pakistan’s most famous folk singers.
Reshma have left two sons and two daughters. She was also awarded a Government Presidential Award in recognition of his services and Sitara-e-Imtiaz.
