SRINAGAR: A local human rights organization in occupied Kashmir, Voice of Victims (VoV) has issued its reports over Indian atrocities in the valley.
According to the VoV report, unlawful arrests of IoK (Indian Occupied Kashmir) people, special youth students, brutal mental and physical torture and unlawful raids by Indian troops and police were continuing in the Muslim dominated valley.
It says that during 2008 to 2014 Indian police lodged fake cases against 5000 Kashmiri youth and also received handsome amount of money from their parents.
It further says over the past 10 years – 2005 to 2015 – Indian police, Special Task Force and Central Reserve Police tortured large number of Kashmiri youth in Srinagar, Baramulla, Shopian, district Islamabad, Sopore, Pulwama, Tara and other areas.
According to the VoV report, police arrest parents of the youth, who participate in peaceful protests, and when they go to get their parents released, Indian forces arrest and severely torture them.
Several Kashmiri youths have become physically and mentally paralyzed owing to inhuman torture by Indian forces, the report said.
It went on to say that during last 25 years Indian forces violated Human Rights laws in the valley and during this time period more than 80,000 people have been killed, 20,000 jailed, 8,000 are missing after their arrest and more than 7,000 Kashmiris are made physically and mentally paralyzed, the report concluded.
