Historic Character Captain Jack Ward Was A Converted Muslim

What people don’t know about the Pirate movies series is that the beloved main character captain Jack Ward Birdy is seemingly based of a Muslim man.

Lead protagonist Captain Jack Sparrow has a bit in common with Jack Ward Birdy, also known as, Yusuf Reis,was an English pirate and converted to Islam.

Evidently when Yusuf Reis sailed to North Africa he adopted the religion of the North African Muslims who lived there.

He was on the run from a church when he Accepted the Religion Islam in the late 16th Century. His whole crew also converted to Islam with him.
