Former Indian President Abdul Kalam Passes Away


The union home secretary of India,L.C.Goyal, reported that government of India had announced 7 day mourning due to death of 11th President, APJ Abdul Kalam.

 Popularly known as the ‘Missile Man’, ex-President of India, APJ Abdul Kalam, passes away at the age of 83.

The present President of India, Narendra Modi, stated in his condolence post on Twitter, “India is aggrieved at the loss of a great scientist, a remarkable president and such an influential personality.”

Abdul Kalam had done Aeronautical engineering after which he started work in the Space Research Institution.

Next he worked for three decades at the Defence research and Development Organization. Meanwhile, he remained the representative of the Indian Space Research Organization.

In 1997, Abdul Kalam received the India’s highest civilian honour, Bharat Ratna, for his contribution to the modernization of the defence technology in India and for his other scientific research.
