Speaking at a ceremony in Islamabad, Minister of State for Water and Power said that the energy crisis has severely affected the people and the national economy, they will start many short and long term projects for elimination of load shedding.
Addressing to a seminar in Islamabad State Minister for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali said that the country is facing the worst energy crisis; He said that if the previous governments focused on the energy crisis, the situation could be much better today.
Muslim League (N) promised to eliminate load shedding in 2 years in the election campaign but now as per this statement of Abid Sher Ali, People of Pakistan would have to bear the same situation till 2017, for the next four years.
Energy crisis in Pakistan has been most intense now days. Pakistani people never faced this kind of situation in the past few years and this crisis also disrupted business activities in the country. Many industries are moving to other countries. According to a report in last 2 years textile industry of Pakistan have been damaged due to load shedding and many industries have been shifted to Bangladesh because they are proving many facilities to industrialists.
It is not that Pakistan’s energy sources are not present, the case is politically, Pakistan could make cheap electricity from water and these projects can be completed more quickly but they have been sucked into the provincial hatreds. Bhasha dam project is in process to complete, but it will take much time. Pakistan is facing energy crisis in which immediate relief is needed. PMLN and Mian Muhammad Nawaz Shareef got votes just because they promised to solve this issue but now they are neglecting all their promises and proving that all politicians are same.
